A biomarker is a measurable indicator of a particular disease state or some other physiological state of an organism. They may indicate either normal or diseased processes in the body and could be specific cell types, molecules, genes, gene products, enzymes, or hormones, among others. Biomarker assays can be useful during many stages of biopharmaceutical development.

Alliance Pharma’s Biopharmaceutical Department applies both traditional ELISA and novel MSD ligand binding assay platforms to perform biomarker assays including complements (and complement cleavage), cytokines, adipokines, interferons, hormones, and growth factors. We perform biomarker assays for all stages of biopharmaceutical development. For exploratory and pre-clinical studies, our biomarker assays are useful to demonstrate the validity of a novel biomarker; for clinical trial studies, our assays can monitor the activity of a biopharmaceutical through analysis of target engagement.
